A major consultation has launched regarding the proposed North/South split of Staffordshire councils. If approved, Cannock Chase District Council would cease to exist in its current form by 2028, merging into a larger Southern Staffordshire Unitary Authority. Local leaders are divided on whether this will save money or lead to a loss of local representation.
