Rugeley Man Jailed After Illegal “Exotic Pet Shop” Discovered in Council House

Robert Gillan, 40, has been sentenced to 32 months in prison today at Stafford Crown Court. A raid on his local-authority home in Rugeley uncovered 162 neglected animals, including endangered parrots. Gillan, who operated as “Staffordshire Pets,” was found guilty of animal welfare failures and fraud. He has been banned from keeping or trading animals for 10 years.
