Staffordshire Police have issued an urgent community update this Tuesday following an armed response at Cannock Park on Stafford Road. Officers were called out after reports of a man brandishing a handgun in a public space. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the individual was carrying a BB gun, and a 14-year-old boy nearby was found with a Desert Eagle replica toy. While no one was harmed, Chief Inspector Lee Walker warned that such incidents put both the public and officers at risk, as replicas are often indistinguishable from real firearms. Police are now calling on parents in the Cannock Chase area to ensure children understand the consequences of carrying imitation weapons in public, which will always trigger a full firearms response.
