Cannock Park on Stafford Road is hosting a “Family Fun Day” today from 10am to 2pm as part of the February half-term program. Organized by the Council’s Countryside Service Team, the free event allows families to learn about local wildlife and meet the team responsible for managing the Chase. Highlights include getting up close to the grazing cows used for heathland management and learning tips on making home gardens more wildlife-friendly. Despite the chilly weather, a large turnout of local families has been reported, with children participating in nature-themed crafts and outdoor activities.

Should the council host more of these free nature events in our local parks throughout the year, even outside of school holidays?
